The rooms should be suitable, sufficient and authorised for the provision of the service. Principles for room planning must be established, regularly reviewed and made available. The environmental conditions (ventilation, cleanliness, noise protection) must meet the high requirements of the hospital. This includes ensuring hygienic conditions. The management should ensure that only recognised methods of room cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation are used. The planning of requirements, procurement, storage, use, decommissioning and disposal of equipment and materials must be regulated in accordance with legal requirements. Operational and technical documentation should be available for the equipment and materials used. The handling of the equipment, in particular the use of equipment by staff, care, maintenance and reprocessing (sterilisation, disinfection) should be regulated in a comprehensible and binding manner for the persons responsible and for the users. Proof must be provided that the safety rules are complied with.
