Purpose and goal

Evaluation of cross-institutional reporting registers for events that may also occur in the same or a similar way in one's own organization. Incident reports from other institutions are evaluated at specified intervals (CIRS register, quality register, annual reports from arbitration boards, research, patient surveys, results from self-assessments, etc.).

Description

The management assigns a position in the organization to evaluate reports on adverse events and errors from other organizations to determine whether they are relevant for the hospital or for individual departments. Employees are requested to forward reports on AEs or errors from other organizations to their departments to the designated unit. The authorized body evaluates report registers for specified periods. It must be checked whether the reported events relate to the hazard situation in the organization.
