Aim and purpose

Zu vielen Themen des Krankenhausbetriebes werden Informationsdienste angeboten, die ausgewertet werden sollten. Dabei sollten die Techniken der modernen Informationsbeschaffung (retrieval Systems, Datenbanksysteme genutzt werden. Neue Informationen müssen bewertet werden (Statistik, Publikationsmedium, Renommeé der Autoren. Methodenkritik). So z.B. der Informationsdienst des Deutschen Krankenhaus-Institutes, Düsseldorf, Tersteegenstr. 9, der Hospital Literature Index mit den Stichworten Professional Review Organizations, Professional Staff committees, Professional Standards Review, Quality control, quality of Health Care, Quality Assurance usw.
