The management of the hospital defines the quality policy for the hospital. To this end, a statement of the hospital operator's objectives, supported by the management and staff, should be developed, formally adopted and announced.

The statement should include:

  • the primary intentions for the operation of the hospital
  • the demand on your own performance level
  • the scope of the range of services
  • the expectations and needs of the municipal organisations in the supply area
  • the relationship with other service providers
  • Aspects of environmental protection
  • the clinic's self-image, reputation and public image
  • the approaches and directions to be taken in the pursuit of the objectives
  • the role of department heads and employees in the process of realising the quality policy
  • The declaration should be publicised, explained and communicated to all employees, referring physicians, cost bearers and the general public.
  • The management should explain how the quality policy is maintained.

As part of the quality policy, the management of the hospital accepts the quality requirements resulting from generally recognised documents such as laws, regulations, recommendations or guidelines. Reference should be made to recognised principles for the medical treatment and care of patients in the hospital.
