Goal and purpose

Information services are offered on many topics of hospital operations, which should be analysed. The techniques of modern information retrieval (retrieval systems, database systems) should be utilised. New information must be evaluated (statistics, publication medium, reputation of the authors, methodological criticism). For example, the information service of the German Hospital Institute, Düsseldorf, Tersteegenstr. 9, the Hospital Literature Index with the keywords Professional Review Organisations, Professional Staff committees, Professional Standards Review, Quality control, quality of Health Care, Quality Assurance etc.
