Goal and purpose

The patient receives a complete description of the treatment procedure and instructions for future behaviour. In particular, attention must be drawn to the use of medicines and their possible side effects and interactions. The handling of medical products must be explained and practised. Information must be provided on adherence to a diet or precautionary measures with regard to nutrition. Information on pain treatment. Information about rehabilitation measures.

A centre to which the patient can turn in an emergency should be named.

If necessary, appointments will be made for a follow-up visit. A written reminder of appointments can be arranged.
