Goal and purpose

Application of risk management to particularly hazardous treatment procedures, especially frequent adverse events such as venous thrombosis, decubitus ulcers, ventilator-associated infections, wound infections, venous catheter infections.

  • Identification of further risks, estimation of the probability of detection and definition of countermeasures.
  • Identification of particularly vulnerable patients (age, condition, children, unconscious, confused, communicable diseases)
  • Reference to scores and scales that can be used to assess the respective risk.
  • Identification of particularly hazardous treatment procedures (dialysis, ventilation, drugs with side effects, chemotherapy, fixation, immunosuppression)
  • Specification of the requirements for the declaration of consent, records of the process, qualification of the medical personnel involved, equipment with medical technology
