The aim of hospital hygiene is to prevent infections among patients and staff. This task is the responsibility of all hospital employees. The task of the management is to inform all employees about the recognized rules of hygiene, to monitor compliance with them, to regularly check the effectiveness of the measures and to react quickly in the event of unusual incidents. The hospital management has created a special structure for this purpose, which is described here. Individual procedures are described in separate documents.edit 2 Scope of application The provisions of the hygiene regulations must be observed in all hospital departments, administrative, operational and other facilities and vocational training centers. The department heads, senior nursing staff and area managers ensure that employees are familiar with and understand these hygiene regulations and the departmental hygiene plans. New employees should be informed about the regulations when they are hired. Express reference should be made to any changes. Instruction on the principles of hygiene and specific issues should be given at least once a year. This must be documented.
