Purpose and goal

Evaluation of cross-institutional reporting registers for events that may also occur in the same or a similar way in one's own organisation. Incident reports from other institutions are analysed at predefined intervals (CIRS register, quality register, annual reports from arbitration boards, research, patient surveys, results from self-assessments, etc.).

Description of the

The management commissions a unit within the organisation to evaluate reports on adverse events and errors from other organisations to determine whether they are relevant for the hospital or for individual departments. Employees are requested to forward reports on AEs or errors from other organisations to their specialist areas to the designated unit. The authorised body evaluates report registers for specified periods. It must be checked whether the reported events relate to the hazard situation in the organisation.
